  • Adolf placed the follwing advertisement in the "Brisbane Courier" on Saturday, 18 August 1885 :- Two carpenters wanted. Adolf Birrer, Albion.
  • At the age of 23 years, 4 months and 20 days, Adolf Birrer married Esther Tedford, daughter of William Tedford and Margaret McGee, on 24 June 1885 in Queensland.
  • The following article appeared in the "Brisbane Courier" on Thursday 2 September, 1895 :-
    "PETTY DEBTS COURT.
    At the Central Petty Debts Court yesterday, before Mr. G, P. M. Murray, P. M., and Messrs. J. Hipwood, G. Robert, C. McLeod, and G. Gordon, JJ.P., verdicts were given for plaintiffs for the amounts claimed In the following undefended cases :-Hall and Gibbs v. C. V. Hattensen, subscription to the " Weekly Gazette," £3 1s. 3d., and 5s. 6d. costs ; R. Westcott v. Lee Kong Sue, goods sold, £26 3s. 6d., and 5s. 6d. costs ; Collings and Co. v.William Lohmann and wife, tea sold and money paid, 18s. 3d., and 18s. costs ; same v. Adolph Birrer and wife, tea sold and money paid, £2 I6s., and 12s. 6d. costs ; same v. Thomas Harris and wife....."

  • On 4 September 1930,his wife, Esther Tedford died in Esk, Queensland. It appears Esther and Adolf were separated for many years before she died, but it was only when Esther died that Adolf married Ida Barnes.
  • At the age of 68 years, 9 months and 18 days, Adolf Birrer married Ida May Barnes, daughter of Charles Barnes and Mary Ann Maddern, on 22 November 1930 in Sandgate, Queensland. Even thought they had been living together for a long time, Adolf and Ida were only married after his wife Esther died earlier in that year.
  • Adolf Birrer died on 10 December 1932 in Queensland at age 70.
  • He was buried in Bald Hills Cemetery, Brisbane.

After Neville was discharged from the Army the family moved to Toowoomba where Neville worked as a clerk at 7SD Stores Depot. They lived in Toowoomba for the rest of their lives.
  • On 5 March 2001,her husband, Neville Hector Reginald Amies died in Toowoomba, Queensland.
  • Jean Birrer died on 3 July 2007 in St Andrews Hospital, Toowoomba, Queensland, at age 92.
