    A pretty wedding was celebrated at St. George's Church, Crow's Nest, on June 9, when Mr. A. Macdonald Brosnan (eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. (Ted.) Brosnan, Lynwood farm, Plainly) was married to Miss Florance Mary Sondergeld (eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Sondergeld, of Fernvale, Crow's Nest. The Rev. W. H. Elvery officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory white Oriental satin, the bodice made with a round yoke of fine Brussels net richly embroidered with crystal and opal beads, and draped with satin and silk lace, the sleeves were full length, and were trimmed with beads and the lame lace, the skirt was slightly draped, showing a panel of rich dieep lace out lined with beads. A Court train heavily kilted fell from the shoulders, and showed a deep frill of lace underneath. She also wore an embroidered, tulle veil surmounted by a coronet of orange blossoms, and carried a shower bouquet of narcissi, camellias, stocks, and maiden hair fern, with white ribbon streamers (a gift from the bridegroom). Her beautiful gold wristlet watch was a gift from the bridegroom's father. Miss Evelyn Sondergeld (sister of the bride) acted as bridesmaid. M. Scurrah (Ipswich) acted as best man. After the ceremony the bridal party drove to the residence of the bride's parents, where a large party of relatives and friends were entertained at a wed ding tea. Mr. and Mrs A Bros nan left by the evening's train for Toowooinba en route to Brisbane and the Tweed for the honeymoon."
  • Alan McDonald Brosnan joined the AIF, regimental number 3467 on 14 July 1917. He was a farmer of Crow's Nest and gave his wife as Florence Mary Brosnan. He joined the 2nd Light Horse, 30th Reinforcement as a Private. His Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAS A38 Ulysses on 19 December 1917 and he returned to Australia on 26 January 1919.
  • On 5 August 1925,Alan McDonald Brosnan's daughter, Jean Margaret Brosnan was buried in Crow's Nest Cemetery.
  • Alan McDonald Brosnan and Florence Mary Sondergeld appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1930 living at Pinelands. Alan was a farmer.
