  • She was the daughter of Robert Chivell and Martha Vowden.
  • At the time of the 7 June 1841 census Thirza Hannah Chivell was living in the household of Robert Chivell and Martha Vowden in Tregisiwin, Ruan Lanihorne, Cornwall. Robert is shown as a 30 year old, agricultural labourer, living with his wife Martha and daughters, Eliza Jane (who is in fact Martha's sister), 8, Mary Jane, 7, Elizabeth Ann, 5, Louisa 3, and Thurza Anna aged 1. Martha's sister Lucy worked at the farm next door.4
  • At the time of the 30 March 1851 census Thirza Hannah Chivell was living in the household of Robert Chivell and Martha Vowden in Trenestrell, Ruan Lanihorne.
