He had been undergoing special treatment at Ipswich, and only proceeded to Ipswich on Friday. He is survived by his widow and three children, the eldest a girl 17 years old. The late Mr. Alford was a son of the late Mr. A. Alford, at one time station-master at Cabarlah, and later at Sherwood. The deceased joined the railway service in 1892, and at the time of his death was chief trains clerk at Toowoomba. He was noted for his courtesy and efficiency. The funeral will take place in Toowoomba."

  • He appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 in Breinton, Herefordshire. Frank aged 19, born East Haddon, was a nursery gardener lodging with a widow Ellen Firnin and her family.

  • He immigrated to Brisbane on 22 August 1884. Frank, aged 22, travelled on the Indus which left London on 20 June 1884.
  • At the age of 25 years, 11 months and 4 days, Frank Allard married Mary (Minnie) Crawford, daughter of William Crawford and Margaret Maxwell, on 20 July 1887 in Petersham, New South Wales, Australia.
  • In 1891 Frank was a member of the Tintenbar Progress Association.
  • In November 1898 a fire Frank had lit to burn some fallen timber flared up a few days later and caused much damage to some neighbouring cane farms.
  • In February 1906 Frank and Mary resided at Tevan, Frank having taken out second prize in the Hen Egg Section of the Alstonville Show. He also took out prizes for his sugar cane.
  • In July 1907 Frank and his daughter Daisy sang at a meeting of the Band of Hope at the Teven Methodist Chruch.
  • In 1908 Frank signed the application for a provisional school to be erected at Brooklana.
  • In 1910 Frank was present at a number of meetings in favour of bringing the railway from Grafton through Dorrigo to Coffs Harbour.
  • In March 1913 the Brooklana Post Office was moved to the Allard residence with Frank becoming Post Master. He was also the insurance agent for Western Insurance Co at Brooklana.
  • In February 1919 Frank took part in maize experiments conducted by the Department of Agrilcuture on his farm Glenrose.
  • In 1920 Frank took part in a trial for growing potatoes.
  • In September 1924 was admitted to hospital where an operation failed to save his eye.
  • In 1928 Frank and Minnie ran the Post Office at Brooklana.
  • In 1931 Frank bumped his leg while ploughing. Gangrene set in and as a result his leg was amputated in Coffs Harbour a short time later.
  • Frank Allard died on 27 May 1935 in Brooklana, New South Wales, at age 73. He died at his home.
  • Frank was buried on 29 May 1935 in Coffs Harbour Cemetery.
  • On 20 July 1935 the following appeared in The Methodist.
  • On 20 March 1939 an advertisement appeared in the Daily Examiner (Grafton) for the sale of dairy and agricultural farms belonging to the estate of Frank Allard.
