  • Gilbert Edward Primrose was born on 27 February 1848 in Midlothian, Edinburgh, Dryden, Scotland. Gilbert was the son of Bouverie Francis Primrose also born Midlothian, Dryden Scotland and Fredericka Anson. Bourevie was the secretary to the board of Manufacturing. He was also the uncle of Lord Rosebery The family lived in Edinburgh in 1851 with at least eight servants.
  • He was the son of Francis Bouveire Primrose and Fredricka Anson.
  • In 1871 He played for the Scottish football XI against England in the representative match played in February 1871.

  • On 6 September 1886 an advertisement appeared in the Darling Downs Gazette - it read:- " To GILBERT EDWARD PRIMROSE, holder of Selection No. 3419a, Parish of Djuan. YOU are hereby called upon to show cause, at the Land Court, to be held at Toowoomba on the Twentieth day of September Next, at eleven o'clock, in the forenoon, why your Selection, No. 3419a. Toowoomba Dis trict, should not be declared forfeited for the nonfulfilment of the condition of occupation. JOHN REID WARNER Land Commissioner Public Lands Office."
  • Circa 1890 He settled in Helidon where he became a director of the Helidon Spa Water Company.
  • At the age of 45 years, 2 months and 16 days, Gilbert Edward Primrose married Jessie Catherine Costelloe daughter of Lieutanent Costelloe of Lackeen Castle, Tipperary, Ireland
    on 13 May 1893 in Brisbane, Queensland.

  • Gilbert Edward Primrose died on 16 February 1935 in Worthing, Essex, England, at age 86.

  • Georgina Elizabeth Anna Pringle was born circa 1838. She was the daugher of Thomas PRINGLE and Georgiana KINEER.
  • Georgina Elizabeth Anna Pringle married Carl Heinrich Hartmann, son of Carl Heinrich Hartmann and Sophie Schmidt, on 3 January 1863 in St Pauls, Forbes, New South Wales. The following notice appeared in the "Sydney Morning Herald" on 9 January 1863 "On the 3rd January, by special license, by the Rev. M. B. Brownrigg, at St. Paul's, Forbes, Carl Heinrich Hartmann, eldest son of C. H. Hartmann, Esq., of Dahlen, Saxony, to Georgina Pringle, eldest daughter of Captain Thomas Pringle,late of Sydney."
  • Georgina Elizabeth Anna Pringle and Carl Heinrich Hartmann moved to Toowoomba circa 1866 with their two sons Carl, born in Forbes and Herman born in Parramatta in 1865. A daughter, Augusta was born in 1867 in Queensland and another daughter Clara in January 1869. Clara was buried in the Toowoomba & Drayton Cemetery later that year.
  • Georgina Elizabeth Anna Pringle died in December 1875 in Brisbane, Queensland.
