He sold the farm -Welke Road, Groomsville (Sub-division 3 of Portion 3619 with an area of 54 acres 1 rood 24 perches) on 5 Mar 1909 to Walter Astbury. Wilhelm jnr returned from Germany to Groomsvillle in 1909 to marry his sweetheart, followed by August in 1910. Wilhelm jnr bought their old farm back from Walter Astbury on 25 Jan 1912. After Wilhelm senior died in Germany in 1912, Mathilde decided to return to Australia with the rest of the family in Jan 1914. Robert remained until after the war
