Carl, aged 34 and Yolune (Johanna) aged 30 came from Germany to Australia on the Orotava with their children Emma A aged 8, Margaretta 6, Herman aged 5, and Johanna 1. Carl had been corresponding with Fred Wolski and the family made their way his property where Carl was to work. Their second son Ernest Wilhelm Morgenstern (know to all in the Crows Nest District as Ernie or Morg) was born in Toowoomba in 1910. Carl later selected 65 acres of sandy scrub land at Pinelands.2,1
  • Hermann Carl Morgenstern commenced school on 12 October 1911 at Pinelands State School. He was enrolled with his sisters Emma and Marguerite. Their father Carl was a farmer at Pinelands.3
  • At the age of 25 years, Hermann Carl Morgenstern married Mildred Juliana Genrich, daughter of Gustav Adolph Genrich and Juliana Kajewski, in 1928 in Queensland.4
