They travelled from England on the Parsee, her husband George having immigrated some time before. She was listed on "Parsee’s passenger list under Section Headed - "Wives of Persons Resident in the Colony". From the Depositors Record it shows a Dr Dodd (Todd) of Kent Road Bermondsey, London gave a good character reference for Sarah and her children to emigrate. Dr George Michael Todd was Sarah's half brother, son of her mother's first husband. She was from Middlesex and religion Church of England. She could read and write and was a housekeeper. The ship left Southampton on the 7 June 1859 and reached Sydney after a voyage lasting 95 days. There were 424 immigrants on board.
  • On 24 September 1873,her husband, George Woods died in New South Wales. Cause of death was failure of hearts action caused by intemperance. He had been ill for about 10 days before his death. A Dr Lyons had seen him on the day of his death. According to the death certificate, a coroner’s inquest was held but to date no details have been found.
  • Sarah Ann Fleet died on 22 August 1874 in Surry Hills, New South Wales, Australia, at age 54.
  • She was buried on 24 August 1874 in Haslam's Creek Presbyterian Cemetery. Her funeral notice appeared in The Sydney Morning Herald:- THE FRIENDS of Mr. GEORGE W.
