The two families became poineers of the Crows Nest District living not far apart on the Crows Nest-Cooyar road.

They arrived in Queensland on 25 Sep 1874. Anna's father Daniel was to travel with them, but he arrived later with his daughter Catherina and Franz Vasina. The surname was spelt PATARA on the immigration index. The Register of Immigrants Index from Toowoomba shows the family was sponsered by John Perina (presumably Ann's brother). According to this index the family consisted of John Patawa 30, Anna Patawa 30, John Patawa 3, and a infant male child of Anna Patawa. The arrival date is shown as 15 December 1873.
  • Anna Perina and Johann Patawa appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Douglas. Johann was a farmer. Their two sons Wilhelm and Daniel were listed as labours at Douglas so most likely lived with them. A third son, John and his wife Bertha farmed at Douglas.
