    Rev John Adamson described David - "as a man, his physical frame was not robust, and this was the result of years of suffering; but intellectually he was strong, vigorous, capable, while morally and spiritually his life was of a high type indeed. He was modest and retiring to the end, and deeply appreciated his home and the company of his wife and child, whom he dearly loved."
