- At the age of 17 years, 10 months and 25 days, Mathilde Elizabeth Bertha Dornbusch married Julius Rohde, son of Christoph Rohde and Johanna Zannot, on 10 June 1883 in Cross Hill, Queensland. Julius was a well sinker and shearer. He spent months at a time away from home, travelling to and from his work on horseback.
- Circa 1888Mathilde Elizabeth Bertha Dornbusch selected land in Emu Creek . They took up portion 36v, Parish of Djuan, a selection of 160 acres. Julius' brother Martin also selected land at Emu Creek, portion 8, Parish of Djuan, an area of 76 acres.

She was unaware that the toddler was standing just behind her, and as she turned around she stumbled. The fat was tipped over him causing severe burns.

Dancing, cards, and games were enjoyed, and supper was served on the verandas, which were decorated with coloured streamers and Japanese lanterns. The table decorations were carried out in blue and gold. The wedding cake was made by their daughter Mrs. Holllngsworth (Sydney). Mr. Joseph Ditto presided, and proposed the health of the guests of honour. Mr. Julius Rohde suitably responded. Before her marriage Mrs. Rohde was Miss Matilda Dornbusch, of Aubigny. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Rohde for many years resided at Aubigny and Emu Creek, and during the past 26 years have resided in Oakey. The family consists of eight daughters. Mes dames Edward Hess (Maclagan), William Lockwood (Sydney), Leslie Skelton (Coolangatta), Robert Hollingworth (Sydney), Herbert Simons (South Africa), Herbert Delgnan (Surat), William Cleaver (Cape Cleveland Light House), and Miss Edith Rohde (Sydney). There are twenty-three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren."

This man is named Carl Wilhelm Dorries. He has been accused of prejudicing recruiting, and his premises provide a rendezvous for Germans, and the German language is spoken freely there. His hotel was burnt to the ground about a year ago. He applied for renewal of his licence recently, but it was opposed, by the authorities and by the townspeople. Several Germans in the district have been interned, but this man has so far been free, although his character and his loyalty have been strongly criticised. - On 24 February 1925 Carl partitioned for a divorce from Catherine. The Brisbane Courier reported on 12 Februray 1925:- " DORRIES V DORRIES
Carl Wilhelm Dorries, of Toowoomba, petitioned for a divorce from Catherine Dorries, nee Catharina Borgert on the ground of desertion.
Mr. D J R Watson (instructed by Messrs. Macnish and Macrossan, town agents for Mr. E Bridgman, Toowoomba) appeared for the plaintiff. There was no appearance of the defendant.
Petitioner giving evidence said that he was interned in 1918, being released in August 1919. When he came out he went to Sydney to look for his wife. Subsequently he met her at a solicitor's in Sydney, and she arranged to return to him to Toowoomba, but she did not. Later he received a letter from his wife, and again, early in 1920 he went to Sydney to look for her and to get work. He saw her in Pitt-street, Sydney, but she walked off. Some days later he saw her in Castlereagh-street but she again walked off, and gave him no chance of speaking with her. He had not seen her since. His wife was five years older than he. Both he and his wife were Germans, married in a German church. She had a child before marriage and he thought that it had caused the trouble. They had quarrelled about the child; he had tried to keep him in order, but he would not work. He was 21.
At the request of Mr Watson, his Honour granted an adjournment till February l8." The judge later granted an order nisi for the dissolution of the marriage. - At the age of 51 years and 4 months, Carl August Heinrich (Charlie) Dorries married Lovenia Kirkett on 18 July 1925 in Queensland.
- Carl August Heinrich (Charlie) Dorries died on 28 July 1943 in Toowoomba Hospital, Queensland, at age 69.
