An account of the wedding was published in "The Courier Mail" on Tuesday 21 December 1937. It read:- Perina — Berry ST. Pauls Church of England Ipswich, was chosen on December 18 for the marriage of Miss Francis Doris Berry (youngest daughter of Mrs.W. J. Berry, Park-street, and the late Mr. W. J. Berry) and Mr. Hugh Clifford Perina (youngest son of Mr. H. Perina, Glenmore, Crow's Nest, and the late Mrs. Perina). The Rev. R. S. Massey officiated, and the bride was given away by her brother, Mr. W. J. Berry. She wore an Ivory Chantilly lace over magnolia satin, and the whole of the gown and train was edged with double rouleau loops. A coronet of orange blossoms held her tulle veil, and she carried a shower bouquet. The bride was attended by her sister (Miss Hilda Berry) and Miss Evelyn Morre, wearing daffodil lace over satin, cut in peacock train effect. Their coronets were of fresh flowers, and their blue bouquets were finished with gilded wheat ears. Little Miss Janice Berry, niece of the bride, acted as flower girl. Mr. E. M. Perina (Crow's Nest) was best man and Mr. George Partridge (Gayndah) groomsman. At Whitehouse's Cafe, where the reception was held, the guests were re ceived by. Mrs. W. J. Berry, wearing a princess gown of black suede, georgette and lace, showing touches of gold. Leaving for the honeymoon, which will be a tour of the South Coast, the bride wore Avocado green romaine with French silk mousseline in applique.

An inquiry was held into her death :- BERYL BEST, late of 113 Alfred street, Valley, died at the Brisbane General Hospital on April 29. At an inquiry into her death, held before Mr. J. J. Leahy, Deputy City Coroner, at the City Coroner's Court on Saturday, Elizabeth Agnes Primmer, mother of the deceased girl, said that on April 24 she had consulted a doctor at the Brisbane General Hospital. On her return home she showed the witness a box of pills and a bottle of medicine. She remarked that the pills were intended to make her sleep. Before this she had complained she could not sleep and had a pain in her side. On April 26, said the witness, she left home at 10.50 p.m. for her pie stall, and returned at 4.30 a.m. Her daughter was lying face downwards and snoring She was taken to the Brisbane General Hospital, and died at 6.10 a.m. on April. 29. Dr. Eustace Russell and Dr. Pye said she had suffered from pneumonia. Her other daughter found the pill box, which was empty, in the kitchen of her home. The witness had at first thought that an over-dose of the pills had caused her daughter 's death, but was now satisfied that death was due to natural causes. She did not think her daugh ter had any intention of taking her own life. Constable P. K. O'Farrell said a post mortem examination was held on on the body of Beryl Best. The medi cal certificate was to the effect that death was due to pneumonia. The inquiry was closed."
