Share farmers continued to dairy on the property for three years until in 1968 it was bought by Ron Clark, the then owner of the Crow's Nest Sawmill. Ron lived in Toowoomba at the time.

- In 1912 John and Harriet Barnes sold their property to Richard Makinson (who was from Yorkshire). John is said to have moved to Crow's Nest and became a money lender. Richard Makinson eventually established a dairy on the property, but was heavily in debt to John. It appears that he was often late in making repayments and John would threaten to reclaim the land. John eventually specified a time and date he required full payment. It is said that Richard paid the money with one minute to spare, possibly having received an inheritance from a relative in England.
A Queenslander house was moved from Rocky Gully Road (near the present Emu Creek Hall) to the property. It was divided in two for transport to the property to be rebuilt. During the move the name, which formed part of the verandah fretwork, was broken and it is unknown if the house was HINTON or HILTON - the Makinsons going with Hinton. - Richard Makinson and Betsy Isobel Mason appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1915 living at Whiteside, Dayboro.
