• Christian Godenschwager was born in March 1841. He is shown as Chris on the passenger llist of the Almora; C. Godenschwager on newspaper reports of his selection of land at Ravensbourne; and Christian on his death registration.
  
• Christian Godenschwager married Marie Louise (Louisa or Elouise) Koch before 1882. Her first husband was Michael Johann Gottlieb Grading 1821-1868, father of Carl.
• Christian Godenschwager and Marie Louise (Louisa or Elouise) Koch possibly immigrated to Queensland on 13 January 1883. The ship's passenger list shows a family consisting of Chris 41, Marie 45 and Alund 11 either daugther of niece of Christian, surname GODENSCHAGER and Carl Grading 23, son of Marie, arriving on the Almora.
  
• Conditional approval for Christian Godenschwager's selection of landwas given on 24 November 1888. He selected 22 acres of land at Ravensbourne. "For the agricultural township farms adjoining the village of Ravensbourne there was great competition, many of the portions being applied for from four to ten times over. The ballot had to be resorted to in no less than 50 cases; this, with the refunding of the amounts paid by the unsuccessful applicants, necessarily occupied  a deal of time, and it was not till half-past 6 O'clock that the business was concluded, and the court closed. By 7 o'clock the whole of the refundments had been paid over to 115 applicants. The 76 portions adjoining the village of Ravensbourne, granted at the land court, were  apportioned among 62 selectors, so there is every probability of the village settlement of Ravensbourne proving a success. The total area granted at the court was 5025 acres among 68 applicants."
  
• In 1892 Christian Godenschwager lived in Ravensbourne. Christian and a number of other selectors wrote to the Highfields Divisional Board requesting a road to be partly cleared from their selections to the Ravensboune reserve.
• In 1896 Christian Godenschwager lived in Ravensbourne. according to the Wies Post Office Directory.
• He and Marie Louise (Louisa or Elouise) Koch appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Engelsburg. Christian was a farmer. Louise's son Carl farmed nearby at Charlwood.
  
• Christian Godenschwager died on 12 December 1912 in Queensland at age 71. The Queensland Times reported "DEATH OF AN OLD RESIDENT. The death occurred, on Thursday, of Mr. Godenschwager, a very old resident of this district. It appears that Mr. Godenschwager went out on Wednesday last to get a load of wood with a waggon and one horse. The horse shied, and slewing suddenly locked the wheels, overturning the waggon and tossing the driver out. The unfortunate man received internal injuries, besides nasty abrasions to the face. He died on Thursday as a result of the injuries. The funeral took place to-day to the local Baptist cemetery. He leaves a wife to mourn her loss. He lived close to Egelsburg for a number of years, shifting to Charlwood (where he met his death) about 12 months ago. The Rev. Pastor Krueger officiated at the grave side."
  The cemetery records show him as 71 years 9 mounths old, a farmer.
