Thomas' brother George also travelled with them. Thomas' parents Thomas and Margaret followed on the Manora in 1882. - George held many different jobs including a trek to Winton with a bulloock team. He also carted wool for the Jondaryan Woolshed and timber for Mt Binga Mill.
When part of Emu Creek Station was opened up for selection, George was one of the fifteen selectors to secure a parcel of land. As with the other selectors of the area, George often supplimented his income by working at Emu Creek Station. - George Parton appeared on the Electoral Roll on 10 October 1885 living at Crow's Nest. leaseholder of Emu Creek.
- He was a creditor of the insolvent estate of Cameron and Hebbel. A meeting of creditors in the insolvent estate of John Cameron and John Heinrich Hebbel trading as timber merchants of Toowoomba took place in Toowoomba. Amongst the creditors were Thomas Cullen £10 3s 4d, Thomas Brennan £39; H A Shum £34; Claud Cronk 44; George Parton £22.
- He witnessed the marriage of Ethel Matilda Perkins and William Parton on 30 December 1896 in Mountain View, Emu Creek, Crow's Nest, Queensland; The marriage was solomised according to the rights of the Primative Methodist Church by Rev James Moorhouse. William was a carrier. Witnesses to the Marriage were George Parton and Ada Hudson.

The Rev. H. J. Garrett officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. George Parton, wore a beautiful gown of cream Marocain with the bodice finely tucked and beaded in opal, and palest pink, caught at left shoulder, with a spray of silver and pink beads. The skirt of French pleating was finished at the waist with a folded belt and opal buckle. Her veil was of the finest net embroidered in silk, and worn in cap effect with sprays of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white cherries, and pink roses, finished with pink tulle, and streamers. Her sister, Miss Lizzie Parton, acted as bridesmaid, wearing a gown of pale mauve crepe de Chine, with a finely shirred skirt, the bodice being inlet with French pleating, finished with headings in the same tone of mauve and silver, with sprays at shoulder, and waist. Her cap was of silver satin, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses tied with tulle and streamers. Mr. C. Bidgood (Emu Creek) acted as best man. A wedding breakfast waa held at Preston's Cafe. The bride's gift to the bride groom was a wristlet watch, and the bridegroom's gift to the bride a fur stole The bridegroom's gift to the bridesmaid was a xylonite brush and comb. The mother of the bride was gowned in black satin, beaded in jet, with a hat to match The mother of the bridegroom was gowned in navy crepe de Chine, with a hat to match. The honeynoon is being spent at Tambourine Mountains and Brisbane. The bride wore a travelling dress of deep beige, embroidered in mulberry shades"

- Lizzie was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Lillian Mildred Parton and Jacob Albert Gscheidle, son of Gottlieb Friedrich Gscheidle and Freidrike Pauline Deuble, on 20 April 1927 in the Methodist Church, Crow's Nest, Queensland; A report of the wedding appeared in "The Courier Mail" on 29 April 1927. It read:- " GSCHEIDLE-PARTON.
A picturesque wedding took place on April 20 at the Methodist Church, Crow's Nest, when Mr. Jacob Albert Gscheidle (son of Mr. and Mrs. Gscheidle,(Kulpi) was married to Miss Lillian Mildred Parton (third daughter of the late Councillor and Mrs. Parton). The Rev. H. J. Garrett officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. George Parton, wore a beautiful gown of cream Marocain with the bodice finely tucked and beaded in opal, and palest pink, caught at left shoulder, with a spray of silver and pink beads. The skirt of French pleating was finished at the waist with a folded belt and opal buckle. Her veil was of the finest net embroidered in silk, and worn in cap effect with sprays of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white cherries, and pink roses, finished with pink tulle, and streamers. Her sister, Miss Lizzie Parton, acted as bridesmaid, wearing a gown of pale mauve crepe de Chine, with a finely shirred skirt, the bodice being inlet with French pleating, finished with headings in the same tone of mauve and silver, with sprays at shoulder, and waist. Her cap was of silver satin, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses tied with tulle and streamers. Mr. C. Bidgood (Emu Creek) acted as best man. A wedding breakfast waa held at Preston's Cafe. The bride's gift to the bride groom was a wristlet watch, and the bridegroom's gift to the bride a fur stole The bridegroom's gift to the bridesmaid was a xylonite brush and comb. The mother of the bride was gowned in black satin, beaded in jet, with a hat to match The mother of the bridegroom was gowned in navy crepe de Chine, with a hat to match. The honeynoon is being spent at Tambourine Mountains and Brisbane. The bride wore a travelling dress of deep beige, embroidered in mulberry shades"
The couple lived at "Nutgrove." - At the age of 22 years, 1 month and 16 days, Lizzie Minnie Parton married Charles Gregory Bidgood, son of William Gregory Bidgood and Anna Barbara Salome (Emily) Anger, on 1 January 1931 in Queensland.
