His war medals went to E W Richardson "Pine View" Gilla, Brisbane Valley Line (William Ernest?)
  • Sydney Robinson Richardson died on 8 September 1916 in France at age 32. He was a Lance Corporal (2669) in the 49th Bn, Australian Infantry, AIF and was a native of Crow's Nest. He died in a London Hospital whist being treated for wounds received in France.

    Deceased was greatly respected and leaves a family of nine, and had nearly reached the age of sixty-six.

    The many friends of Mr. W. Richardson, of Glenaven, will regret to learn of his death on Wednesday morning, in the Crow's Nest hospital. In Crow's Nest and Glenaven and the ad jacent districts he was well known, well liked and respected by all who
    came in contact with him. He was of generous kind disposition, and manywill miss the genial pioneer of the Djuan district. He was well known in Highfields and Toowoomba, and was a
    timber carrier before the railway was built to Crow's Nest. Previous to that time in his young days he carried from Ipswich to Toowoomba to Dalby and other places over the old Toll Bar
    road. He lived for a number of years in Crow's Nest, and finally settled in theDjuan scrub where he and his wife and family lived for fifteen years. His wife,it will be remembered, died about four
    years ago. He leaves a family of nine to mourn their loss, three sons and six daughters. One son and three daughters are married. The funeral was largely attended, the Rev. J. E. Blackney of ficiating at the grave.
