    "LITTLE GIRL FATALLY INJURED. TOOWOOMBA. December 9.
    Early this morning, at Kilburnie, on the Goombungee line, Mrs. Ada Ernestine Gottliebe Nelder, aged 25, was found at her home with a large incised wound in her throat. One daughter, Annie Alice Nelder, aged 5 years, is alleged to have been attacked with a razor, receiving a large incised wound in her throat. Another daughter, only three years old, was similarly attacked, and subsequently succumbed to her injuries. According to a report made available this afternoon by the police, the tragedy occurred at 5 o'clock this morning. Shortly before that time the woman asked her husband to go to the kitchen, as she wanted a drink. When the husband left the room the woman locked the door. The mother, father, and sister of Mrs. Nelder were in the kitchen when the husband came in. Screams were heard coming from the room occupied by Mrs. Nelder and her two daughters. Nelder and his wife's relatives tried to get into the room, but found the door locked. Nelder got through a window, and found his wife and two children with their throats cut. The youngest child died in a few minutes. The condition of the mother and the other child was unchanged at a late hour tonight." Ada was later committed to the Willowburn Mental Hospital.
