Dascombe (Shire Council representatives) Mr Jas Barnes (president of the Crows Nest A H and I Society) and Messrs Alan Brosnan and T H Patch all spoke in eulogistic terms regarding the guests or the evening Mr C Morgenstein in making the presentation of a wallet of notes, to Mr Rogash and a handsome handbag to Mrs Rogash expressed the general regret felt at their departure."

They hauled the steam engine purchased from the Ipswich Railway yards up the Blackbutt range with a horse team. In 1907 he returned to Crow's Nest, leaving Thomas to run the mill. His wife, Lily had suffered a stroke after the birth of their daughter Lily and needed to be closer to medical help. He established a planing mill in Crow's Nest beside his house. He ran this until 1936.

He was superintendent of the Plainby Methodist Sunday School for 21 years, and a local preacher for 43 years. He was a member of the Crow's Nest A., H.and I. Society since its inception in 1902 was president for many years, and some years ago was elected patron. He also was a member of the Goombungee Haden A., H., and P. Society, and judged farm produce at many shows. From 1930 to 1939 he was a director of the Downs Co-operative Dairy Association. His wife died four years ago. He is survived by two sons — Messrs. T. C. and V. O. Williams (Plainby) — and two daughters— Mesdames J. Rogash (Goomeri) and D. Andrew (Crow’s Nest.)"
