She left the cottage on the previous Sunday, intending to go to the cow yard to milk a cow, and must have collapsed when about 30 yards from the cottage. No one called at the cottage during the week. When the baker's boy called on Saturday and found that bread he had left in a box on the main road the previous Saturday had not been collected he made investigations"

    "TOOWOOMBA, Tuesday. — A 79-year-old blind woman, Hannah May Wilkes, sat by the dead body of her sister near their home calling for help all night. This was revealed at the inquest to-day on Georgina Julia Wilkes, 70, of Cabarlah. Evidence disclosed that the blind woman heard her sister cry out: 'I am falling.' The blind woman went to her assistance and found her by following her voice. She covered her sister with a blanket and sat by her side all night. In the morning the blind woman managed to get back to the kitchen, but she was unable to get herself anything to eat. This occurred on January 23 and the body of the dead woman and her sister were not found until January 29. The blind woman is now an inmate of St. Vincent's Hospital. The inquiry was closed."
