The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in corded brocaded taffeta, adorned with a shoulder posy of lily of the valley; her veil, which was worn with a wreath of orange blossoms, was lent by Mrs. R. L. Askin, and fell In soft folds below the uneven hemline of her gown. She carried a bouquet of sweet peas and jonquils, tied with white satin streamers.
Miss Iris Adams, who was bridesmaid, wore a deep cream mariette frock, with a pointed hip yoke, and finished with a shoulder posy of yellow roses. She carried a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums tied with satin streamers.
Mr. Cyril Askin was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Cafe Alexandria. Mrs. Sattler, who received the guests, wore a frock of brown brocaded morocain and a hat to harmonise. Mrs. L. Askin was frocked in navy blue crepe de Chino, worn with a hat to tone.
On leaving for the honeymoon, which is being spent in Brisbane, Mrs. R. Askin wore a tweed tailored costume, with a velour hat to harmonise." - Roy Askin and Marjory Ellen Sattler appeared on the Electoral Roll between 1934 and 1972 living at Emu Creek Road, Crow's Nest. Roy was a carpenter.

- Thomas Askin immigrated on 2 April 1883 to Queensland with Richard Askin and Emma Thatcher. Richard and Emma, both 32, travelled with their five children Thomas 10, Mary 8, Henry 7, Ada 4 and Arthur 2 on the Duke of Devonshire. According to Richard's obituary the family spent time in Cambooya before moving to Mount Pleasant, Geham and then Crow's Nest.

- Walter Askin enlisted in the AIF on 27 October 1914. He joined the 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance, Service Number 464. He was a teamster, born Crow's Nest and gave his father, Richard of Crow's Nest as his next of kin. Walter served in the middle east and Palestine in the ranks and as a driver. He also served in the Desert Column. Promoted to Corporal. He was admitted to hospital on several occasions with bronchitis and influenza. He was discharged 3 Dec 1918.

"“Two returned soldiers, Arthur Tomlinson and Walter Askin, of this district [Crow’s Nest], who recently started a storekeeping business at Kumbia, met with a serious motor cycle accident near that place. While travelling on their machine, with the side car attached carrying a third pas-senger, they ran into an obstacle and smashed the machine. Tomlinson had his collar bone broken, and was badly bruised, and Askin sustained damage to his face and neck. The occupant of the side car sustained a broken elbow, and all were unconscious when found. They were removed to the Kingaroy hospital, where they are progressing favourably."
