    Crows Nest Historical Society
Vale Doris Joan Walker née Just
    4 July 1919 – 3 April 2012
    A TRIBUTE
At St George the Martyr Anglican Church, Crows Nest,
on Thursday 12 April 2012 a large congregation of family
and friends gathered to celebrate the life of this remarkable
    lady.
In a life lived to the fullest, one of her many achievements
was the establishment of the Carbethon Folk Museum
    at Crows Nest.
The Crows Nest & District Historical Society was
formed in 1973, but it was in following the generous gift of
the Just family home, relocated from Haden, that the Museum
    began to take shape.
The Carbethon Folk Museum developed largely due to
the commitment and strength of character of Doris. She
understood the comnection of items with the donors and
    their families.
The Doris Walker Room was named in her honour, but
when you wander around the museum her influence everywhere.
There will never be another with her personality
and her whimsical sense of humour has been built into Carbethon
    Folk Museum and Village.
Joan (gofer to Doris for many years.)
