  • From his Eulogy" Stanley's career involved mixed farming (dairying, pigs, produce (fruit and veggies)). He exhibited champion butterfat cows at local shows. Stanley was a multi-skilled farmer. He practised his knowledge in mechanics, plumbing, water divining, veterinary requirements and carpentry. His ability in these areas touched the hearts of many people. He was also a dedicated and active member of the Crow's Nest AH&I Society (duly honoured with Life Membership).
    Stan's social and sporting life was inspiring. He had a passion for tin kettling, played cricket (maiden century at 50 years of age), fox hunting, old-time dancing (waltz of Vienna - a favourite), Pinelands Hall (chair), bus committee, lawn bowls (he was an esteemed past president of Crow's Nest Lawn Bowels - acted with dignity and pride). From his heart and passion for sport he generously donated a premiership shield for cricket and a family open shield for lawn bowls. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed exchanging hairdressing favours with family members.
    Staley enjoyed a full life. He was a loving and passionate father and a respected, adored and generous grandfather and great grandfather. He was particular with dress and well mannered - a true gentleman, loved by all. He enjoyed good health, inherited family recipes, drank water, ate fruit, and enjoyed a nip of wine at bedtime.
    In October 1996 Stan had a triple heart bypass operation that involved a valve replacement and pacemaker implant to reassure his heart function. Quote: “I will live forever". Unfortunately, Stanley’s health was to slowly deteriorate. His heart ire and he passed away peacefully on 2nd February 2006. His lifelong wish in the comfort of his own home."
