William Wilson bids me let you know that he will go to that country if all bees well. If you take him out hes a good maining honest man. You need not be afraid to trust him. My son Henry had a letter from James. It appears that James has selected some land near Joseph Staines place. I wonder what he will do with it. Henry would like he would take him out to that country and I think he would have need of him to help him clear it. I don't know whether Henry has wrote to James as yet or not as he is in Scotland with William Wilson.
Scotland is a bad country to live in at present. There is a great many of the works stopped. The works that William Wilson wrought at is stopped this good while on account of a strike with the miners that is the coalours and that stopped other works for the want of coal. The oldest man in this country doesn't mind as wet a summer as this last summer has been. the floods did a great dale of harm. We had more than twenty high floods in our river all after other this summer some of them a man could not ride a horse over the bridge. There is no work for the labouring class of man in this country and traidsman is idle. Your mother, sisters and brothers join me in sending our love to you and wife and family and my poor James and Robert John and my very dear Sarah Jane and Joseph and all they children.
