He is survived by a widow and grown-up family of nine sons and two daughters; namely: William (Nambour), Walter (Goombungee), Fred and George (Toowoomba), Richard and Eric (Bergen), Jack (Newcastle), Herman (Meringandan), and Percy (Crow's Nest). The daughters are: Mrs. Fred Richter (Bergen) and Miss Mabel Klease (Bergen); also 27 grandchildren. The funeral took place from the deceased late residence, at Bergen, to the Goombungee Cemetery, where Pastor Prenzier officiated at the grave."

- At the age of 20 years, Maria Franciska Knack married Frederick Mathias Christy Schefe, son of Mathias Johann Jochim Schefe and Sophia Catherina Frese, in 1883 in Queensland. They settled at Muniganeen, also known as Prickly Pear Gully (between Goombungee and Meringandan.)
- In 1893 Maria Franciska Knack and Frederick Mathias Christy Schefe lived in Bergen. where they took over Fred's brother's selection. John had been drowned during a flood the year before. Here they built a slab hut with a large fireplace big enough to hold the camp oven used to bake the bread. The vine scrub was felled, cleared and planted to enable dairying to commence. The cream, sometimes only a small amount, was sent to the depot near the Bergen school. It was then sent to Meringandan, and from there by rail to the Silverwood Butter Factory in Toowoomba. A factory was later built at Crow's Nest and then one at Goombungee. Fred was director of the factory until it closed.
Fred was the Chairman of the Bergen School committee. He was also involved with the Farmer's Union and the Goombungee-Haden Show Committee.
Meanwhile Mary ran the local Post Office for a number of years. The mail would arrived by pack horse and was sorted for neighbours to collect three times a week. - Maria Franciska Knack and Frederick Mathias Christy Schefe appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Bergen. Fred was a farmer and Mary, as she was known, carrried out domestic duties.

WEDDING MADDERN-KNIGHT
The Emu Creek Methodist Church which had been decorated, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday October 9, when Miss Eva Alison Knight, the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W E Knight of Toowoomba, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Mr John William Maddern, eldest son of Mr and Mrs E Maddern, "Glenmore", Emu Creek.
The bride looked charming in a gown of off-white satin. The tight fitting bodice featured a pointed waistline and cowl front, and was finished with self-coloured buttons and loops, the full circular skirt falling in a long graceful train. She wore a pretty lace veil kindly lent by Mrs E Hillenberg of Crows Nest, a friend of the bride, and carried a trailing bouquet of arum lilies.
Miss Evelyn Maddern, sister of the bridegroom, who acted as bridesmaid, wore a dainty frock of powder blue georgette. She carried a bouquet of Rev F Page Roberts roses and daisies.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr J Kelly as best man.
After the ceremony, at which Rev S G Monro officiated, a reception was held at the residence of Mrs C Vaschina, a sister of the bride. The bride's mother, who received the guests, wore a becoming frock of black silk sheer. She added a matching hat and accessories and carried a posy of blue delphiniums. The bridegroom's mother favoured a handsome floral georgette and navy had and carried a posy of red roses.

- When Ray was just a baby his parents moved to Condamine from Victoria. His parents split up in 1932 and most of the family moved closer to Crow's Nest and Emu Creek. Ray went back to his uncles place at Uranquilty in southern NSW when he grew up. There he learned to break horses, and later worked his way around doing shearing, fencing and general farm work.

Robert and Mary had eight children, some of whom were born at Pechey. - Robert Arthur William Thomson Knight appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Djuan, Crow's Nest. Robert was a farmer. They were not on the 1908 electoral roll for Crow's Nest.
- On 10 March 1933 Robert Arthur William Thomson Knight's obituary appeared in South Coast Bulletin. It read:- "OBITUARY- ROBERT ARTHUR KNIGHT.
There passed away at his Residence Nerang street, early this morning, Mr. Robert A. Knight, late of Milmerran, aged 65 years. A native of Hampshire, Mr. Knight came out to Queensland over half a century ago. He went to West Australia for a period afterwards returning to Queensland where he commenced farming at Peachy (Crow's Nest), from which place he went to Toowoomba, remaining there about six years when he took up an area of land in the Milmerran scrub, being , one of the pioneers of that area. After about twenty years residence there he retired and three years ago, came to Southport with his wife and daughter to reside. Mr Knight was one of the best known men in the Milmerran district having been associated with all movements that made for progress. For three terms, in succession he filled the Worshipful Master's chair of the Milmerran United Masonic. Lodge, No. 219. His association with the Too woomba Ambulance centre extended over a quarter of a century, and dur ing his residence at Milmerran he re presented the Toowoomba centre officially in a honorary capacity.
He leaves a widow, four sons and four daughters to mourn their loss and to whom sympathy is extended. The sons are Arthur (Brisbane), Robert and Norman (Milmerran), Ernest (Kingaroy), and the daughters, Miss Elsie Knight (Rockhampton), Mrs. J. Mooney (Toowoomba), Mrs. J. Funk ' (Milmerran), Miss Violet Knight (Southport).
There are three sisters, Matron Knight (Salvation Army Boys' Home, Indooroopilly), Mrs. G. Gant (Brisbane), and Ensign Baker (New South Wales), and one brother, Mr. W. Knight (Peachey, Crow's Nest district). The funeral will move from the Southport Methodist Church tomorrow (Saturday afternoon for the Southport cemetery." - Robert Arthur William Thomson Knight died on 10 March 1933 in Southport, Queensland, at age 65.
