Staggering to his feet, he walked to his home, whence he was taken by the ambulance to the Miles Hospital, where he died six days later. Bice was born in Norfolk Island, where his father was a missionary. Thirty-four years ago he went to Columboola, and later settled on the land near Drillham."

The first head teacher was Thomas Walls and the School Committee consisted of Joseph Cossart (Secretary - his eldest child was only four at the time), Alf Bidgood, John Hebbel, James and John McQuillan.
  The following year Alice Brown, Joseph Cronk, John Brown, Edward Brown, Alice Cronk, Minnie Humberdross, Emma Humberdross and John Kynoch were enrolled.

William selected Portion 370 (Parish of Crow's Nest) while his eldest son Alfred eventually selected portions 369 and 797.

• At the age of 27 years, 5 months and 25 days, Alfred William (Fred) Bidgood married Alice Gray, daughter of William Gray and Grace Hunter, on 8 October 1874 in Pipeclay Creek, Queensland. Alice was the daughter of William Gray who had selected the land next to Alfred's.

Charles Gregory Bidgood

• Charles Gregory Bidgood was born on 3 May 1902 in Emu Creek, Queensland.
• He was the son of William Gregory Bidgood and Anna Barbara Salome (Emily) Anger.
• On 18 February 1911, the Department of Education compiled a list of children who were currently attending the Moss View School, but were residing near the proposed Jubilee Vale school. William and Anna's children George, 12, Charles 8, Ida 10 and Matthew Leslie 5 were on that list. They lived on Portion 29 Djuan which was about 1.5 miles from the proposed new school as compared to 6 miles from the Moss View School.

• Charles was the best man at the wedding of Lillian Mildred Parton and Jacob Albert Gscheidle, son of Gottlieb Friedrich Gscheidle and Freidrike Pauline Deuble, on 20 April 1927 in the Methodist Church, Crow's Nest, Queensland; A report of the wedding appeared in "The Courier Mail" on 29 April 1927. It read:- " GSCHEIDLE-PARTON.
  A picturesque wedding took place on April 20 at the Methodist Church, Crow's Nest, when Mr. Jacob Albert Gscheidle (son of Mr. and Mrs. Gscheidle,(Kulpi) was married to Miss Lillian Mildred Parton (third daughter of the late Councillor and Mrs. Parton). The Rev. H. J. Garrett officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. George Parton, wore a beautiful gown of cream Marocain with the bodice finely tucked and beaded in opal, and palest pink, caught at left shoulder, with a spray of silver and pink beads. The skirt of French pleating was finished at the waist with a folded belt and opal buckle. Her veil was of the finest net embroidered in silk, and worn in cap effect with sprays of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white cherries, and pink roses, finished with pink tulle, and streamers. Her sister, Miss Lizzie Parton, acted as bridesmaid, wearing a gown of pale mauve crepe de Chine, with a finely shirred skirt, the bodice being inlet with French pleating, finished with headings in the same tone of mauve and silver, with sprays at shoulder, and waist. Her cap was of silver satin, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses tied with tulle and streamers. Mr. C. Bidgood (Emu Creek) acted as best man. A wedding breakfast waa held at Preston's Cafe. The bride's gift to the bride groom was a wristlet watch, and the bridegroom's gift to the bride a fur stole The bridegroom's gift to the bridesmaid was a xylonite brush and comb. The mother of the bride was gowned in black satin, beaded in jet, with a hat to match The mother of the bridegroom was gowned in navy crepe de Chine, with a hat to match. The honeynoon is being spent at Tambourine Mountains and Brisbane. The bride wore a travelling dress of deep beige, embroidered in mulberry shades"
  The couple lived at "Nutgrove."
