He retired some time ago on reaching the age limit. The funeral took place from St. Patrick's Cathedral to the Toowoomba Cemetery, the service at the graveside being conducted by the Rev. Father O'Dea. Beside his wife he is survived by two sons - Aspley
    (Toowoomba) and William (Brisbane) ; -four daughters-Mrs. P. J. Cullinan (Brisbane), Mrs. E. M. Kimmins (Toowoomba), and Misses Gladys and Hazel Sharry (Toowoomba) ; also one brother -Patrick Sharry (Murgon)-and two sisters-Mrs. L. F. Kelly (Toombul) and Mrs. James Husted (Roma). Two brothers (John and Lawrence Sharry) predeceased him some time ago."

John Sharry, an unmarried man, who resided in this town, was sawing a log into lengths at Hampton yesterday when he was struck on the head and shoulders by a falling limb of a tree. He died about an hour afterwards. Sharry had taken the place of a man who had been killed in a similar manner exactly three weeks earlier, and a strange coincidence was that on each occasion a man named Hawkins was the companion of the unfortunatile men. No blame is attached to anyone."
