Carl had been corresponding with Fred Wolski and the family made their way his property where Carl was to work. Their second son Ernest Wilhelm Morgenstern (know to all in the Crows Nest District as Ernie or Morg) was born in Toowoomba in 1910. Carl later selected 65 acres of sandy scrub land at Pinelands.

    "OBITUARY - Mr. G. Morice.
    Mr. George Morice (aged 58), a well-known resident of the Crow's Nest district, died on Monday night. He had twice been a member of the Crow's Nest Shire Council, and was a member and a keen worker on the committee of the show society. The late Mr. Morice was president of the race club. He is survived by a widow and grown-up family. The funeral, which took place at Crow's Nest yesterday, was largely attended."
  • The Methodist Church in Crow's Nest erected memorial plaques to early Crow's Nest Pioneers on the Church fence. George's name was amongst them.

  • She and Hermann Julius Raatz immigrated to Queensland on 20 August 1873. Herman 25 and Henriette 20 travelled on the Friedburg with their daughter Auguste 3. With them were other members of the Raatz family:- Ferdinand Raatz 30, Wilhelmine 26, and her husband Charles Raatz 28. Their infant son Herman died on the journey. Also aboard the ship were Joseph and Emilie Polzin and their children. An August Raatz immigrated to Queensland on the Waroonga on 13 August 1888. He was 25.
