  • William Robert August Vonhoff was born on 13 January 1889 in Groomsville, Queensland.

  • In February 1908 Wilhelm Vonhoff senior, who had become homesick, took the entire family back to Germany. He sold the farm -Welke Road, Groomsville (Sub-division 3 of Portion 3619 with an area of 54 acres 1 rood 24 perches) on 5 Mar 1909 to Walter Astbury. Wilhelm jnr returned from Germany to Groomsvillle in 1909 to marry his sweetheart, followed by August in 1910. Wilhelm jnr bought their old farm back from Walter Astbury on 25 Jan 1912. After Wilhelm senior died in Germany in 1912, Mathilde decided to return to Australia with the rest of the family in Jan 1914. Robert remained until after the war.
  • At the age of 21 years, 1 month and 3 days, William Robert August Vonhoff married Dorothea Louise Tewes, daughter of Carl (Heinrich) Tewes and Anna Louise Sperling, on 16 February 1910 in Queensland.

From 1968 to 1986 he was Deputy Chairman of the Wiltshire Quarter Sessions, recorder of Devizes, and later Recorder at the Crown Court, and finally a Circuit Judge (Western Circuit). He became a Barrister and subsequently a Queen's Councillor.
  • At the age of 43 years, 4 months and 22 days, Desmond Harvey Weight Vowden married Iris Blanche Stafford Northcote on 28 May 1964 in Kensington. Gerald Bertram Vowden

  • Gerald Bertram Vowden was born in 1925.
  • He was the son of Joseph William Vowden and Alice May Pratt.
  • Gerald Bertram Vowden died on 27 August 1944. He was an ordinary seaman on board the HMAS Hussar which was sunk by friendly fire from the RAF off Le Havre. There is a plaque in his honor at the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
