"For the agricultural township farms adjoining the village of Ravensbourne there was great competition, many of the portions being applied for from four to ten times over. The ballot had to be resorted to in no less than 50 cases; this, with the refunding of the amounts paid by the unsuccessful applicants, necessarily occupied  a deal of time, and it was not till half-past 6 O'clock that the business was concluded, and the court closed. By 7 o'clock the whole of the refundments had been paid over to 115 applicants. The 76 portions adjoining the village of Ravensbourne, granted at the land court, were  apportioned among 62 selectors, so there is every probability of the village settlement of Ravensbourne proving a success. The total area granted at the court was 5025 acres among 68 applicants."

• Henry McLeod died on 7 February 1927 in Grove Farm, Wieambilla, Tara, Queensland, at age 95. His obituary appeared in the Dalby Herald -"We regret to have to Report the death of Mr. Henry McLeod, senr., at the age of 96 years. The deceased, who had been for many years a resident of Tara, went to Ravensbourne, some years ago and only recently returned to Tara. Despite his age the old gentleman had a wonderful memory and could speak on many subjects right, up to within a. few days of his death. The funeral took place to the Tara cemetery on Tuesday morning, from the residence of his son, Mr. N. D; MacLeod, storekeeper Tara. Rev.R. L.Reid, Presbyterian minister, Dalby held a short service in the house prior to the departure to the cemetery, and also conducted - the service at the graveside. When the cortege reached the cemetery gate Piper Wilson preceded the hearers to the last resting place playing the haunting strains of "The Land o' the Leal." He also played "Abide with Me” at the burial service, which added to the solemnity of the occasion.
  The late Mr MacLeod was 96 years of age; and leaves a grown up family of five sons and three daughters to mourn his loss. The sons are Mr Donald MacLeod, Western Australia, Mr Peter MacLeod, Atherton, Messrs N D and" Hy . MacLeod, -Tara, -Mr Angus MacLeod, Mackay, and the daughters are Mrs Currie, of Canada; Mrs. Lamond, Sydney, and Mrs Schumann, of Ravensbourne."
