  • Thomas Broadfoot and Amanda Sophia Fredericks Jocumsen appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1908 living at Emu Creek. Thomas was a manager (of the Djuan(Emu Creek) sawmill) and Amande carried out home duties.
  • This photo of the Emu Creek (Mossview) Cricket Team was around 1910. Thomas and Amand Broadfoot sponsored the team and it is thought that they are the couple in the middle front of the photo. Their son James is sitting on his father's knee
    around an unknown date.

  • On 18 February 1911 the Department of Education compiled a list of children who were currently attending the Mossview School, but were residing near the proposed Jubilee Vale school. Thomas and Amanda's children Molly 7, Ena 51/2 and Jack were listed. They lived at Djuan which was about 11/2 miles from the proposed new school as compared to 31/2 miles from the Mossview School. The two girls may not have attended as there is a note saying they were back at Crow's Nest School. Jack had never attended school and would have only been three at the time.
  • On 8 August 1922,Thomas Broadfoot's son, Robert Broadfoot was buried in Drayton & Toowoomba Cemetery.
  • In the early part of the 1925's Ida Miller went to work for a Broadfoot family at Kooralgin, as their housekeeper. This may have been Thomas and Amanda's family as the mill at Djuan closed around 1914. Ida would have been known to the Broadfoot family as she grew up at Emu Creek not far from the Djuan Mill. --- Ida Louisa Emily (Lou) Muller.

  • William Broadfoot was living in Toowoomba at the time of the marriage of Mary Jane McCullogh and James Broadfoot on 22 August 1863 in Queensland; The Brisbane Courier reported:-
    "BROADFOOT-McCULLOUGH.-On 22nd August, 1863, at Toowoomba, by the Rev. J. Waraker, James, son of William Broadfoot,Toowoomba, to Mary Jane, daughter of William McCullough of Brisbane. Present address, Herries-street, Toowoomba."
  • William Broadfoot died on 15 March 1902 in Herries Street, Toowoomba, at age 83.
