Mr Primmer was born in Nelson, where he was for many years well known as a hunter of big game, a cricketer, and a member of the local Cavalry Corps. He came to this district some nineteen years a go, and was for some little time after his arrival engaged in cattle and sheep dealing on his own account, afterwards entering the employ of Mr Jas. Buckley, of Lagmhor Estate, with whom he remained for about sixteen year 3, residing at Tinwald. Mr Primmer came to Ashburton about a year ago, and started a restaurant in East Street, He leaves a widow, a son, and a married daughter (Mrs H. Hewson). The funeral' takes place to-morrow at 2.30 at the Ashburton Cemetery."
