  • Emma Louisa Stark was born on 20 March 1904 in Djuan, Queensland.
  • She was the daughter of Wilhelm August Ferdinand Stark and Augusta Puschmann.
  • At the age of 18 years, 4 months and 20 days, Emma Louisa Stark married Johann Franz Polzin, son of Johann Jacobus Polzin and Bertha Magdeline Schmidt, on 9 August 1922 in Djuan, Queensland. Their first house had been the manse at the Lutheran Church at Doctor's Creek. It was moved by rollers to John's property about ¼ mile from the church.
  • In 1925 John, doing away with his horse drawn machiner, purchased the first 10-20 tractor in the district. He would often help his neighbours with their ploughing. He replaced his sulky and horse drawn spring cart with the first Nash car in the district in 1925.
    He sold corn, sometimes at the best price of 1/6d a bushell. Cattle sold for 10/- per head, or a bull would go for £2 or £3.
  • Emma Louisa Stark and Johann Franz Polzin appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1925 living at Doctor's Creek. He was a labourer and Emma carried out home duties. His father and brothers farmed in the area.
