He attended the Esk State School. As a young man he was in partnership with his brother in a butchery business there for many years. He left to take up grazing. About 13 years ago the late Mr. Blank moved to Crow's Nest. During the last 12 months he has been in indifferent health and he entered a Brisbane hospital three months ago. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family of three."

  • Alfred was a groomsman at the wedding of Elizabeth Ethel Blinco and The Darling Downs Gazette reported on 29 Sep 1906 - "A very pretty wedding took place on Wednesday afternoon last, when Mr. John Albert Charles Cavendish Ellis, second son of Mr. D. S. Ellis, of Rockhampton, was married to Miss Elizabeth Ethel Blinco, eldest daughter of Mr. James Blinco, of Crow's Nest. The marriage was celebrated in the local Methodist Church, the Rev. B. Bottomfley officiated. The bride, who looked charming and becomingly dressed in cream voile, trimmed with satin ribbon and pleated with chiffon, was given away by her father. Miss Ellis and Miss Dinah Blinco the bride, and were both prettily dressed. Miss Ellis attired in a pretty cream voile dress, and a white felt hat trimmed with a moss green and blue feather, while Miss Blinco wore a cream voile dress and a white hat trimmed with pink. Mr. Jack Blinco attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr A. Blinco as groomsman. After the ceremony the wedding party adjourned to the bride's parents house where the wedding breakfast was laid out. The presents were, both numerous and costly. Soon after the breakfast the bride and bridegroom drove to Toowoomba. The bride wore a very smart travelling dress of blue"

  • At the age of 24 years, 4 months and 24 days, Alfred William Blinco married Marion Dinah Langton, daughter of James Stephen Langton and Mary Ann Phillips, on 2 February 1861 in St Lukes Church of England, Toowoomba, Queensland. At the time Alfred was a carpenter living in Toowoomba. Marion was a housekeeper at Cooyar Station. From the time of his marriage Alfred held various jobs, carpenter, part time shearer. In 1866 he was granted a timber license. They settled in Gowrie Road, Aubigny where they ran a farm.
