Johanna 57, and Emil aged 19 travelled on the Friedeburg which sailed from Hamberg on 22 June, as full paying passengers. Johann F, aged 29, Wilhelm aged 14 (who died on the voyage) and Maria 12 years 6 months travelled as Assisted passengers. According to newspaper reports the family moved to the Ravensbourne district not long after their arrival.

Ann Handy

• Ann Handy was born on 15 February 1871 in Queensland.
• She was the daughter of Lawrence Handy and Ann O'Brien.
• At the age of 20 years, 11 months and 25 days, Ann Handy married John James Doyle, son of Patrick Doyle and Bridget Mary Hand, on 9 February 1892 in Queensland.
• Ann Handy and John James Doyle appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Djuan. John was a farmer. An Annie Margaret Doyle was also living at Djuan. She was a school teacher.
  
• In 1903 John obtained his Deed of Grant for their property which, several years later, he signed over to Annie and moved to Brisbane where he established, and was secretary for the United Coal Workers and Lightermans Union for over 10 years. Annie and the children, who attended Coalbank School continued to run the Dairy/mixed farm.

• The Coalbank Telephone Exchange was installed in the Handy home. Being the only telephone available in the district, the family would deliver phone messages to their neighbours on horseback. Farmers coming to the Doyle home to make calls and collect the mail brought from Wutul by Mary, would often treat it as a social visit that sometimes lasted several hours. Around 1950 some of the farmers also had the service connected but the Doyle family continued to manage the exchange until 1975.
  
• Ann Handy died on 14 April 1939 in Queensland at age 68. After her death the family farm continued to be run by her sons Steve and Lawrence who also continued with the mail run from Wutul. Cricket matches were often held on the farm which was taken over by Mary and her husband Nigel Aldridge in 1948.

He enlisted again on the 20 Sep 1915 in the 10/25 Rifles.
• He served in France. John was reported missing on 5 Aug 1916. After a court of enquiry held on 25 June 1917 this was amended to killed in action - Poziers.

• August Hannemann died when he was thrown from his horse on 24 April 1930 in Haden, Queensland. The Courier Mail reported:- "
  As Mr. August Hannemann, of Haden, was returning from a school committee meetmg with Messrs. T. D. Schultz and J C Naumann last Wednesday evening, he was thrown from his horse and killed. The party separated at the railway gates, and a moment later Messrs. Schultz and Naumann heard a noise which sounded like a horse falling. On investigation they found Mr. Hannemann lying on the ground beside a small culvert. The Toowoomba Ambulance Brigade was summoned, but on arrival it was found that Mr. Hannemann was dead. He is survived by his widow and six children. The funeral was the largest seen in the district, and Pastor Prenzler conducted the service.
