  • At the age of 21 years, 11 months and 16 days, Wilhelmine Ernstine Winkelmann married Christoph Genrich on 17 February 1867 in Alt Prochow, West Prussia.
  • Wilhelmine Ernstine Winkelmann and Christoph Genrich immigrated to Port Keppell, Rockhampton, on 6 October 1877. Christop 25, and Wilhelmine aged 30, sailed from Hamburg Germany on the Fritz Reuter on 15 June 1877 with their children Anna 9, Adolph 6, Max 4 and infant Ferdinand. The eventually settled in the Glencoe area where they farmed and raised a family of thirteen children.
  • Wilhelmine Ernstine Winkelmann and Christoph Genrich appeared on the Electoral Roll in 1903 living at Glencoe. Christoph was a farmer and Wilhelmine carried out domestic duties. A Wilhelm Genrich, labourer also lived in the district.

He is living with his wife Maria 30 born Sutton; and a Elizabeth Frances (Ann Frances?) age 14, nurse child; born Sutton and Frederick John 11 an errand boy born Haselbury; and Sarah Ann aged 7 born Merriott. Abraham's brother John an agricultural labourer & carter aged 20 born Middle Chinnock was also living with the family as was their brother William, aged 19, an agricultural labourer, born Hazelbury.

  • Maria Winsor and John French appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 in Yeovil, Somerset. John French, born Merriott, is shown as the 30 year old carter and brother in law of Maria French. She is shown as a the 45 year old head of the family born Sutton, a glove welter. Living with them is Sarah Ann French born Merriott aged 18, Maria and Abraham French's daughter.

  • Compilers Note:- Just what happened to Abraham is a bit of a mystery. He was not on the 1861 census. By 1871 his wife Maria and brother John were living as husband and wife. Perhaps he has another run in with the law and was in prison. There is a death of an Abraham French registered in the Clifton District of Gloucestershire for December 1851.
  • Maria Winsor and John French appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 in Yeovil, Somerset. John is shown as the 40 year old head of the family born Middle Chinnock. He is living with his "wife" Maria French, born 1817 in Sutton Bingham.

  • Maria Winsor and John French appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 in 18 Hgr Kingston, Yeovil. John is shown as head of the household. He is a 54 year old gardener born Merriott living with his "wife" Maria a 65 year old born Sutton, Somerset and Maria's (& Abraham French's son) Fred a 40 year old carter born Merriott. Maria was not John's wife but the wife of his brother Abraham. The couple continued to live together after Abraham left (or died). Her son Fred was married, but his wife and son were living with her parents in another part of Yeovil.

  • Her death was recorded with the Yeovil, Somerset, Registration District in the March 1891 Quarter.
