- Virginia Prewer-Docking was born on 2 August 1856 in Chevington, Suffolk, England. She was know as Virginia Prewer, her father using the name of his step father though he was never adopted by Mr Prewer. The name Doking was used for legal matters.

- Virginia Prewer-Docking and Amos Harriss immigrated on 27 March 1876. Amos, 24 and Virginia 19 travelled on the Western Monarch leaving London on 9 Dec 1875. During the 5 month voyage Virginia suffered badly from sea sickness and she never went on board any kind of boat again.
Amos found work with a dairy farmer at Kangaroo Point in Brisbane. They later moved to Toowoomba and worked in a confectary factory. However, indoor work did not suit Amos so he took a job on a farm at Gowrie Little Plains. He then worked on the Railway at Mitchell on the banks of the Maronoa River. Later they transfered to Toowoomba to do the same work and when the railway work had finished Amos selected land at Ravensbourne just outside Toowoomba and built a house in the scrub. - Virginia Prewer-Docking witnessed the burial of Frederick Henry Harriss on 3 March 1882 in Drayton & Toowoomba Cemetery.

- He enlisted in the AIF on 16 February 1915 in Liverpool, New South Wales, He stated he was born in Wrenbury, Cheshire and was 27 years 11 months old. His next of kin was his mother Catherine Price who still lived in WALES. John had been apprenticed to W. Griffiths for five years as a joiner.
He was 5' 4 1/2" tall, weighed 122 lbs with dark complexion, brown eyes and dark hair. He was a Methodist.
He joined the 19th Battalion and served in the Middle East and then France before being transferred to the 17th Battalion. He was discharged on 27 July 1919. - At the age of 32 years, John Elias (Jack) Price married Mary (May) Allard, daughter of Frank Allard and Mary (Minnie) Crawford, on 10 December 1919 in Methodist Church, Brooklana, New South Wales. John was a 32 year old orchardist of Kerryvale, born Wrexham, Wales, the bachelor son of John PRICE, a sawyer and Catherine PARRY. Mary was a 27 year old spinster born Teven Creek, daughter of Frank ALLARD and Mary CRAWFORD. The service was performed by Samuel Wedge and witnessed by W Lawrence [ NOTE:- A Walter Lawrence married Annie (Dolly) Allard in 1928].
