• Johann Franz Polzin was raised in the Douglas district. He settled at in Doctor's Creek when he purchased land from Christian Puschmann, his further wife's uncle, in 1920.
  
• At the age of 27 years, 8 months and 6 days, Johann Franz Polzin married Emma Louisa Stark, daughter of Wilhelm August Ferdinand Stark and Augusta Puschmann, on 9 August 1922 in Djuan, Queensland. Their first house had been the manse at the Lutheran Church at Doctor's Creek. It was moved by rollers to John's property about ¼ mile from the church.

• In 1925 John, doing away with his horse drawn machiner, purchased the first 10-20 tractor in the district. He would often help his neighbours with their ploughing. He replaced his sulky and horse drawn spring cart with the first Nash car in the district in 1925.
  He sold corn, sometimes at the best price of 1/6d a bushell. Cattle sold for 10/- per head, or a bull would go for £2 or £3.
  
• In November 1929 was fined for driving without a licence in Ipswich. His conviction was note in The Brisbane Courier on 5 November 1929. It read:- "Johann Franz Polzin, Haden pleaded guilty to a charge of driving a motor car in Brisbane-street, Ipswich without a license on September 24 last for which he was fined 20/ with 3/6 costs of court, in default 48 hours improsonment."
  
• In 1936, Thomas Askin built a new home on for Johann Franz Polzin in Doctor's Creek. Timber growing on the property was hauled by a home made log-junker to make the house blocks.
• He purchased more land at Doctor's Creek from John (Frederick) Lucht around 1940.
